What do your washing machine error codes mean?
Has your washing machine stopped working? Are you thinking how am I going to wash all these clothes by tomorrow? Don’t worry take a look at the solutions below. It might not be as bad as you think. A Hotpoint F05 error can be fixed pretty easily without a plumber.
F01 — Electronic circuit board fault
Issue: Washing Machines is not operating – some or all functions are not selectable.
Advice: We suggest that you disconnect or in other words unplug the washing machine from the mains supply for at least 2 minutes. Reconnect it and wait for about 30 seconds and try to start the machine up again.
F02 — Motor circuit fault
Issue: Intermittent or no drum rotation during wash cycle.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F03 — Temperature sensing fault
Issue: Washing Machines not heating on wash or dry settings.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F05 — Waste pipe blockage or pump issue
Issue: Washing Machines’ door will not open / the door can be opened but water remains inside the drum.
Advice: Check your pump filter for blockages depending on your model, check the handbook. Another thing you can check is if there are any blockages in the waste water hose and in under the sink plumbing.If none of the suggested solutions work for you. You’re more than likely to have a pump failure and will need more assistance.
F06 — Door lock fault
Issue: Washing Machines door cannot be opened or closed / when the door has closed the machine the program will not start.
Advice: If the door for your washing machine won’t close. We suggest you check if there is anything blocking the door lock. If this problem is still happening we think you should call the customer service center and book yourself an engineer.
F07 — Electronic circuit board fault / heating circuit fault
Issue: During a wash cycle the program pauses part way through/ the machine is not heating and the pump runs continuously.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F08 — Heater fault
Issue: During a wash cycle the program pauses part way through.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F09 — Software fault
Issue: Washing Machines isn’t operating multiple flashing lights and/or display. Unable to select a program.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F11 — Pump circuit fault
Issue: Water remains in Washing Machines / not pumping out.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F12 — Electronic control fault
Issue: Washing machine is not operating (turning on).
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F13 — Dryer temperature sensing fault (washer dryers only)
Issue: Washer dryer is not drying clothes.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F15 — Heater control fault (Washing Machine and Washer Dryers)
Issue: Washing Machines is not heating water or pauses during a wash cycle / not drying or pauses during drying cycle.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F16 — Drum lock position sensor fault (top loading machines only)
Issue: Washing Machines’ drum is stopping in the wrong position or is not locked in the correct position.
Advice: We recommend that you call your customer service center and book an engineer to help with the issue.
F18 — Internal data error
Issue: Some or all display / functions do not work on my washing machines.
Advice: We suggest that you disconnect or in other words unplug the washing machine from the main supply for at least 2 minutes. It may be longer. Reconnect the supply and wait for about 30 seconds and try to start up the machine again.
