Best Limescale Remover for a Brown Toilet: Vinegar? Coke? WD40? – EASY

How to remove THICK Limescale from your toilet below the waterline

1. Pour 4 cups of vinegar into the toilet bowl
2. Leave for 3 hours
3. Scrub the toilet bowl to loosen the limescale

5. Repeat if there is still some stubborn limescale

Step 1: Pour 4 cups of Vinegar Into Your Toilet

Pour 4 cups / 1 L of vinegar into the toilet bowl.  Make sure that it covers the area of the limescale(1). White distilled is the best type of vinegar to use for household cleaning. White vinegar has a PH of 2.5.

Just leave the vinegar to sit for 3 hours. If you have particularly old or thick limescale, you may want to let it sit for 5 hours.

3. Let the Coca-Cola sit in the bowl for at least an hour or overnight.
4. Use a toilet brush to scrub the bowl, focusing on the areas with the most limescale.
5. Flush the toilet to remove the Coca-Cola and any loosened limescale.
6. If any stubborn limescale remains, repeat the process until it is all removed.

Wear gloves and eye protection when using Coca-Cola to clean, as it can irritate the skin and eyes. Also, don’t mix Coca-Cola with other cleaning products, which can create dangerous fumes.

Vinegar

4. If that doesn’t work, get gloves and use a scouring pad to really remove the limescale.
5. Flush the toilet.
6. Now your toilet should be rid of limescale. Just keep up normal cleaning, and you should never get the limescale build-up again.

I have found the best way to remove brown stains in the toilet bowl is to use coke.

Pour 1 600 ml bottle of coke into the toilet bowl and leave it to soak for 1 hour.

Then use the toilet brush to scrub, and the brown stains should brush off.

Then flush.

Repeat if necessary.
